Creating an account
How do I create an account?
Creating an account is a simple process that takes just a few minutes. You’ll need to provide your name, address and bank account number and sort code which will be used to verify your identity as part of our anti money laundering procedures (AML). You’ll also be asked to define the type of investor you are and take a short appropriateness assessment to ensure that you have the knowledge and experience to understand how our investments work.
Non-UK residents
For non-UK residents, we will have to manually verify your identity and bank account. Please email a copy of your passport, a utility bill and a bank statement dated within the last 3 months which includes your name and address to helpdesk@assetzexchange.co.uk to be verified manually as part of our anti money laundering procedures (AML).
Please note
It is your responsibility to ensure that an investment through Assetz Exchange Ltd complies with and is permitted under the laws of your jurisdiction.
Anti money laundering (AML)
To meet Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) requirements we are required to check your identity to determine you are a legitimate investor. We use a third party to perform this check.
What happens if I fail?
If you fail the initial verification please email helpdesk@assetzexchange.co.uk with a scanned copy of your passport or driving licence and a bank statement dated within the last 3 months which includes your name and address. We will then be able to manually verify you.
Bank verification
Bank verification is part of the AML process which is a requirement set out by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to prevent money laundering. We are required to ensure that you deposit funds onto the platform using a bank account in your own name. You can skip this step when signing up, but you will not be able to deposit or invest until we have verified your bank details.
What happens if I fail?
If we cannot verify the bank details you provided automatically, please email helpdesk@assetzexchange.co.uk with a copy of a bank statement with your name and bank details clearly visible. We will then be able to manually verify your details.
Self-certification
Self Certification is the process of letting us know what investor category you belong to. There are four categories, with users asked to select the category that reflects their financial profile best.
Investor appropriateness assessment
Before investing, we are required to ensure that you understand the site, how it works and the risks associated with investing. To do this we require you to take a short quiz of multiple choice questions.
What happens if I fail?
You may take the test again as many times as is necessary, however if you fail the test twice (or more) you will have to wait 24 hours to be able to take it again.
